The fans called him Loosh and in 1968 they voted him their most favorite Roosevelt Raceway driver. At the age of 14 he was delivering milk in a horse drawn wagon at 4:30 am. In 1957 he joined the Clint Hodgins Stable and moved from Canada to the United States. Driving as a provisional driver in 1961 he won a $50,000 stake race. In 1968 he won 264 races to rank second in North America only Herve Filion had more wins that year. He won many driving titles and had won many stake races including the Messenger Stakes. He also developed drove and trained 1986 Hores of the Year Forrest Skipper
