Jimmy Marohn, Sr.

Jimmy with close to 7,000 wins began his racing career under the guidance of Bruce Nickells and then joined the Billy Haughton Stable. He branched out on his own in the early 1970's and was the leading driver at Monticello Raceway before moving his operation to the Roosevelt/Yonkers circuit. He ranked as one of New York’s top drivers for over 20 years. He won the US Pacing Championship with Paul Vance s “Secret Service”. Other horses he drove include Wildwood Jeb who he won the Cane Pace with, Melvin's Strike, Best of Jenkins, Mr. Forty Nine and many others.
